The ongoing story of the Haggi Confederation is now available year by year (One,
Two, Three, Four,
Five and Six) online or as a Word
document in this Zip archive (also has the
house rules document). For those with Starfire Assistant, you can download the
current Haggi Confederation database (for v6.92)
at end of turn 72.
Also available are the scripts to update Starfire Assistant from
v5.3 to v6.0,
v6.0 to v6.1,
v6.1 to v6.2, v6.2 to v6.3
(see this note from Steve Walmsley about the v6.2-v6.3 update),
v6.3 to v6.4,
v6.4 to v6.5,
v6.5 to v6.6,
v6.6 to v6.7 (warning note),
v6.7 to v6.8,
v6.8 to v6.9 (warning note)
and v6.9 to v7.0 (warning note re custom tech).
You can also download a zip file that contains the SAUpgrade
executable and all the update scripts.
By default, the theme table is ignored. However, following SA
v6.4 it is possible to add your own themes (instructions),
so if you want to copy over any themes you have added, simply change the line table 'theme' ignore
to table 'theme' copy in the update script. You will not get any new themes that Steve Walmsley has added
in this case.
Please note that any custom technology items you have added are not copied
over by the earlier scripts, but the v6.7 to v6.8
and v6.8 to v6.9 updates do.
Here are some zipped Word docs of Steve Walmsley's Rigellian Campaign (up to T166), the
reason he wrote SA.

Technology
Here are some 3rdR tech items I came up with.
Fighter Armour
HT 9 Cost 8 CSP .5
Code fA Dev. 6000 fXO 1
Horrified by the attrition rate inflicted on it’s fighters, the HCN developed a
combination shield and armour pack to increase their survivability. Although this
came at the expense of weapon load-out, the CSGs of the Navy were gratified by
the decrease in missing man formations needed.
Each fA mounted on a fighter increases the number of hits needed to kill it by 1.
Fighter Force Beam
HT 10 Cost 10 CSP .5
Code fF Dev. 5000 fXO 2
This is a force beam miniaturised for strikefighter use. It requires 2 XO points
and can be mounted internally, displacing two weapons.
Fighter Energy Beam
HT 12 Cost 15 CSP .5
Code fE Dev. 7500 fXO 2
Developed by the energy beam loving Ophiuchi in response to the advanced
composite and anti-laser armours now in widespread use, this weapon saw little
use in ISW4 as the Terran dominated Alliance standardised on the fL2 that came
out of labs at the same time. May be mounted internally, displacing two weapons.
Second Generation Fighter Force Beam
HT 12 Cost 15 CSP .25
Code fF2 Dev. 10000 fXO 1
Continuing development of the fF produced this smaller weapon. Whilst the fF2 has
less individual crunch power and no longer a range than the fF, it is half the size
and has improved anti-smallcraft range. The team that developed the fP combined
several of the techniques used in the fF2 with the bulk of the fF to produce that
weapon. Requires 1 XO point and can be mounted internally.
(Developed from Symon Cook's take on fF)
Fighter Needle Beam
HT 13 Cost 50 CSP .5
Code fN Dev. 10000 fXO 2
A fighter sized version of the needle beam. Due to the large power requirements
of the intense energy beam used, this pod is single shot although it can be
recharged in 5 turns if the fighter returns to the carrier. fN uses the normal
needle beam rules when coupled with fXr, otherwise it operates as a single shot,
1 point energy beam. The single, focussed burst of energy also makes this weapon
useless against the small and elusive target that is a small craft, fighter or
gunboat. May not be mounted internally.
Optionally, due to the stable firing platform, accurate line up and requirement
to focus scanning efforts on the target ship, a fighter that engages a target
with an fN may not perform engine modulation, although f?x functions normally.
Fighter Torpedoes
HT as per fMx Cost as per fMx CSP .5
Code fTx Dev. as per fMx fXO 2
In an effort to increase stand off fighter lethality, the HCN experimented with a
heavier fighter missile. In essence, they grafted an fR warhead onto a beefed up
fM body. fTx is -4 to hit compared to the appropriate fM equivalent, but the
target’s TM is added to the to-hit number. Point defence engages fTx at +1 to
intercept. The fR warhead can mount AM, AAM, LT2+ and can utilise SCW and AMPx
addons. The fTx takes 2 fXO to carry or can be mounted on two of a GB’s in line
racks. Development cost as per the equivalent generation of fM.
(Developed from Michael Sandy's original idea)

Capital Needle Beam
HT 11 Cost 65 6 Hull Spaces
Code Nc Dev. 15000
The usual increase in mass produced a useful increase in range to 16 tactical
hexes and an increase in damage to 2 points at ranges of 6 or less. If a
precision hit is scored at 6 hexes or less, the targeted system and the system
immediately to the right are destroyed. Engages fighters as per normal N.
Capital Variable Energy Beam
HT 14 Cost 85 6 Hull Spaces
Code Evc Dev. 18000
The combination of Ec2 and Nc was developed concurrently with the Fvc project.
The Evc can fire as Nc or Ec2. It engages fighters as per normal N.
Basic Missile Box Launcher
HT 9 Cost 50 2 Hull Spaces
Code Rb Dev. 4500
Operates as per the Wb from ISW4, but may not fire sprint mode missiles.
Third Generation Standard Missile (SM3), HT 13, Cost 1.25, MSP 1, Dev. Cost
6000
The SM3 is an incremental update to the SM2. Whilst it proved
impossible to increase the range or warhead beyond that of the SM2, the
designers did manage to incorporate better ECM and evasion abilities, giving
point defence a harder target. The SM3 is -1 for point defence to engage.
